The team welcome urgent referrals particularly for the following conditions:

  1. Upper limb birth injury including obstetric brachial plexus palsy
  2. Small skin lesions i.e. extra digits on stalks (as well as pre-auricular skin tags) which are potentially suitable for excision under local anaesthetic preferably before the baby is six weeks old
  3. All hand trauma will be seen at the next Hand Trauma Clinic (these clinics are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons)
  4. Neonatal upper limb ischaemia – any neonate born with vascular compromise of a limb associated with a skin lesion and swelling should be referred immediately for consideration of an urgent fasciotomy
