International Women in Engineering Day 2023 - Sophie Hall, Assistant Project Manager (Apprentice)

Sophie Hall About you….

I completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Mathematics in 2020. I then started work with Vital Services at BWC in February 2022 which led to me starting a Degree Apprenticeship in Project Management at Aston University in September 2022.

Being a woman in engineering….

What motivates me is the team I with in Vital Services as we all help and support each other in the Estates department at our Women’s Hospital. Within my role, I must lead projects to ensure the are completed safely, quickly and effectively.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in STEM?

My advice for women considering a career in STEM is to research all the different job opportunities. As someone who has done university full time, I would really recommend a Degree Apprenticeship as they work around your job while still allowing you to earn an income.

Fun fact about you….

My favourite movies are the Harry Potter franchise and I can also speak Spanish (sort of).
