Manoj V Parulekar
Consultant Ophthalmologist and Fellowship Programme Director
Mr Parulekar has been a consultant for over 10 years, and provides a comprehensive eye service for children. He leads the ophthalmology fellowship training programme in the department. He serves on the Scientific Committee and Paediatric subcommittee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and is treasurer to the Oxford Ophthalmological Congress. He has contributed to international guidelines for retinoblastoma, and developed innovative programmes for long term follow up of children undergoing cataract surgery. He works closely with families to develop the services in the West Midlands and across the UK. Mr Parulekar is active in research to improve eye care for children, publishing innovative techniques for infantile squints, and lens implantation in children following dislocated lens surgery.
