Diagnostic Andrology

The Andrology Laboratory provides diagnostic semen analysis as a component of fertility investigation prior to fertility treatment. This usually takes place within our Fertility Centre. The department is the largest andrology service in the West Midlands and is accredited to perform diagnostic semen analysis tests by UKAS. Under the clinical lead of the Fertility Centre director, semen infertility analysis investigation is undertaken by members of the healthcare science team.

Quality of the service is maintained by internal quality control measures and by participation in the UK National External Quality Assessment Service (NEQAS) andrology scheme and the European ANOVA External Quality Assessment scheme'.

We are on the second floor of the Birmingham Women's Hospital.

Please note that there are no facilities for childcare at this clinic. We respectfully request that you do not bring children to this appointment.

Referral for semen infertility analysis is via the Women’s Hospital Patient Access Team (Booking Office) who will then issue appointments.
