Radiology x-ray Our Interventional Radiology Service at the Children’s Hospital offers a comprehensive range of interventional procedures for the children and young people of the West Midlands and beyond.

We treat a variety of conditions such as vascular and lymphatic malformations, portal hypertension and strictures of the oesophagus just to name a few. Our dedicated team provide a specialised service for our patients, using the highest quality equipment and techniques.

Procedures we offer:

  • Angiography and angioplasty
  • Biopsy of the kidney and liver
  • Bleomycin sclerotherapy
  • Bronchoscopy/airway intervention
  • Drainage or aspiration of fluid
  • Embolisation
  • Endoscopic removal of kidney stones
  • Endovenous laser treatment
  • Insertion of a central venous catheter (CVC)
  • Insertion of a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC)
  • Insertion of an implantable port
  • Linogram studies
