Dr Rafeeq Muhammed
Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist, Specialty Research Lead for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Research Delivery Network, West Midlands
Dr Muhammed joined the Trust in 2010 after completing his postgraduate training. His area of interest is inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in children.
He is the chief and principal investigator for many clinical trials in the field of IBD. His work led to Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) becoming the lead commercial clinical trial centre in the UK for children with IBD.
His role in the Research Delivery Network West Midlands helps to advance research in gastroenterology and hepatology in our region and beyond.
