Diabetes support and activities
We offer a range of support groups and activities to our children, young people and families. These include:
Camp
We organise a diabetes camp every year. We take around 30 children on an activity holiday for four days. Information for our 2018 camp is coming soon.
Getting on Together
Saturday drop in service
Saturday drop-in at the Diabetes unit is a chance to see one of two diabetes nurses on duty to discuss any issues. Dietitians are available once a month, usually the second Saturday of the month.
Drop-in times:
- 9.30am until 12pm
- 1pm until 3pm

Diddy Diabetes
Events are organised for parents and children under the age of five. Please contact Sara Anderson or Kirsty Mobberley for more details of up and coming events.

Youth Club
The You Club is a youth club for all young people aged 8—15yrs old with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes. The youth club run every 3rd Saturday of the month from 1pm-3pm. (Please note for the Young People that have attended before the time has changed).
It is held at the lighthouse this is a multi-purpose building that has facilities that young people can enjoy and participate in a range of activities, such as a pool table, a Sports Hall to play team games, a chill out area and a kitchen area to encourage cooking skills and trips out.
We hope you can join us for fun and a chance to get support with your diabetes and make new friends. You can bring a friend/sibling/family member along with you as long as they are aged between 8-15 years old and know about your diabetes.
