Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust Highly Commended in the British HR Awards

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust has recently been Highly Commended in the British HR Awards for 'Public and Not for Profit Organisation of the Year’.
The prestigious awards celebrate teams and individuals who help to deliver a world-class people experience, and received over 350 entries from organisations and companies across the UK.
This recognition acknowledges the success of the Trust’s Fresh Start to recruitment programme, launched in 2023.
The programme changed every aspect of recruitment at BWC including implementing TRAC, and improving approvals, time to hire and induction of new starters.
It has reduced vacancies by 80 per cent, including reducing nurse and midwifery vacancies by half.
The recognition comes after the Trust was shortlisted for multiple awards in 2024, including ‘Best Recruitment and Workforce Planning Strategy’ HR Excellence Award and two Personnel Today Awards.
Raffaela Goodby, Chief People Officer said: “We are delighted to be recognised in these national awards, and it’s a huge honour to see our work featured amongst private sector organisations and national best practice.
“The British HR Awards celebrate organisations that are truly passionate about delivering a positive people experience, so to be highly commended for such a title is a real testament to everyone involved and the work we do here at BWC to make our Trust one of the best places to work."
