Caron Eyre, Director of Nursing, Quality & Governance elected Chair of the Association of British Paediatric Nurses

We'd like to say a big congratulation to our Trust’s Director of Nursing, Quality & Governance, Caron Eyre who has been elected Chair of the Association of British Paediatric Nurses (ABPN).

Caron said: “I am delighted to join the ABPN as their chair. Caron Eyre

“This is an exciting time for the association as we plan to celebrate our 85th year in 2023.

“As a committed children’s nurse, I am very proud to become the new Chair and am looking forward to working with the association’s leadership team and meeting our members.”

She will be the operational head of the Association and represent it on behalf of children and young people’s nursing as well as lead its Governance and Development Group.

The Association is a UK-based network of children’s nurses with a wide membership of experts in clinical practice, education, leadership and research that aim to promote the development of children’s nursing through evidence based information about practice and education.

Bernie Carter, Professor of Children’s Nursing at Edge Hill University and ABPN President, said Caron had extensive experience of setting strategy for quality, safety and clinical governance as well as working in clinical settings including paediatric intensive care, liver, and kidney transplant units and as well as more general clinical areas.

Bernie said: “Caron’s skills, expertise and passion align with the Association’s commitment to supporting nurses; we are delighted that she has agreed to be ABPN Chair.”
