Children's Hospital Dental department re-opens after major refurbishment

Dental refurb Back in March, our Children’s Hospital Dental department closed with clinics taking place at alternative locations so that a full refurbishment could take place. We’re delighted to report our team has, since early last week, been welcoming patients to its new and improved facilities.

The work has included the conversion of an additional room into a fifth surgery meaning the department can now support the delivery of a new cardiac and dental screening service.

Rooms are adorned with fantastic artwork produced by Mr Murals, which was generously funded to the tune of £18,000 by our Charity. It's in-keeping with its different themes, including Safari, Arctic, Jungle and Meadow.

Improving the experience of patients and families has been at the heart of the project and the new visuals aim to reduce anxiety; offering a distraction and giving clinicians an opportunity to talk about the designs to build a rapport with children to deliver a smoother and easier treatment.

Thank you to everyone involved in the successful project, including our Vital Services and Dental teams, along with our Charity. We’re also immensely grateful to the teams at Good Hope Hospital and Aston Health Centre, who have accommodated clinics whilst work has taken place over recent months.
