Essential theatre upgrade work to commence at our Women’s Hospital

Theatre at Birmingham Women's Hospital

Upgrading work on two operating theatres at Birmingham Women’s Hospital will commence next week aimed at improving the environment for our women and their families.

The operating theatres, which are currently used by our maternity service, will be closed for a period of two weeks at the end of February and the start of March to accommodate these necessary upgrade and improvement works.

As a result of these works, you may notice a difference in the environment while you are in hospital for the birth of your baby. While the quality of care you receive will continue to be of the very best standard, interim arrangements are in place to minimise disruption and to ensure that we can continue to provide you with the best experience possible.

We would like to apologise for any disruption that may be caused due to these works while you are in our hospital. The safety of our women and their babies remains our main priority and we want to ensure that you continue to receive the very best care possible from expert clinicians.

Thank you for your understanding as we carry out these essential works.
