It’s that time of year again. Our Team BCH superstars will be flying the flag at the British Transplant Games, which is taking place in Oxford. The annual celebration of the power of organ donation will happen between 31 July and 3 August. We want to wish our team a massive ‘good luck’ ahead of the event, where they’ll be cheered on by loved ones and our volunteer management group

Once again, our team has been kindly and generously supported by our fantastic Charity. Around 1,000 competitors of all ages will be taking part in more than 25 events over the course of the four days of action in the City of Dreaming Spires. From archery, table tennis and swimming to cycling, track and field, the 2025 instalment promises to be another amazing showcase of the Gift of Life.

A young girl at the British Transplant Games with the game's mascotJemma Mears, Transplant Games Team BCH Manager, said:

“It’s always an exciting time as the countdown to the games ticks by to the opening ceremony.

“It’s difficult to describe the immense amount of work that goes into these few days. It’s always worth it. There’s such a special atmosphere. I’ve said previously, it’s difficult to describe it to anyone who has never been.

“Just looking around and seeing so many people who have been given the Gift of Life. It’s amazingly humbling to be part of something like this.

“Everyone is really looking forward to getting to Oxford to represent our Children’s Hospital.” As always, remember to check out our social media channels over the four days of action as we’ll be offering updates and all the latest news as the medals are won."
