Information on planned Industrial action by Resident Doctors (7 - 13 April)
The British Medical Association is taking industrial action across the UK as part of its dispute over pay, conditions and employment with the Government.
Resident Doctors will be striking from Tuesday 7am on 7 April until 7am on Monday 13 April.
During these periods, some of our services, such as outpatient clinics and some non-urgent procedures, like surgery, may be affected. There could also be disruption in the days before industrial action.
We will contact you if your appointment needs to be rescheduled due to strike action.
If you do not hear from us please attend your appointment as planned.
As part of our efforts to do everything we can to minimise the impact on patients, we may have to reschedule your appointment or procedure at short notice. If we have to do this we are very sorry and will do everything we can to rearrange your care as soon as possible.
Our teams across our Children’s and Women’s hospitals and in our Mental Health Services have worked hard to make sure that our emergency and urgent services remain there for our women, children and young people and are safe.
The industrial action does mean that our Emergency Department, while safe, may have reduced staff numbers, which could mean longer waits for some patients.
We will continue to review and update our plans and provide updates when available.
