Inspirational Midwife awarded Star of the Month Prize

Ursula and Jessica and CharlieUrsula Greenaway, an inspiring midwife who works in the Delivery Suite at our Women’s Hospital, has received a coveted Star of the Month award. She took home the prize after being nominated for her exceptional care and compassion caring for Mum, Jessica, during the birth of her son.

Jessica shared: “From the moment we arrived, Ursula’s calm, reassuring presence made a profound difference to our experience. Having experienced the trauma of a previous stillbirth, I was extremely anxious going into the delivery, but Ursula instinctively understood this.

“She was gentle, kind and attentive, taking the time to explain what was happening and offering reassurance throughout the procedure.

“Her compassion helped transform what could have been an overwhelming and frightening experience into one where I felt grounded, protected and cared for.

“She not only provided this outstanding care for me, but also for my husband, who was absolutely terrified following our previous traumatic experience.

“During such a pivotal and emotional moment in our lives, Ursula’s professionalism and humanity stood out.”

Jessica’s moving nomination was shared with Ursula before she was presented the prestigious award – well done Ursula.

His colleague shared: “It was such a relief that Adam could help us, and we are very grateful for his help.”

Mr Lo was nominated by a colleague for an exceptional act of empathy and courage. He showed real compassion and bravery when supporting another colleague during a difficult time

His colleague shared: “Mr Lo showed us all what it truly means to say that at BWC, everyone matters. An act of empathy may appear small, but its impact can be profound and lasting.”
