International Nurses Day 2020 marked with special video
It's international Nurses Day and our Chief Officer for Nursing and Midwifery, Marion Harris, has put together a special video to celebrate.
This International Nurses Day is a particularly special one. Not only is it the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, marking 200 years since the birth of Florence Nightingale, but it comes during a time when nurses are playing a vital role in the fight against COVID-19. To all of our nursing staff, nurses across the NHS and around the world, your bravery and compassion is an example to us all. We salute you and hope you have a fantastic day.
To mark the day, nursing leaders are asking the nation to 'shine a light' this evening. If you would like to join in the celebrations shine a light from your window at 8.30pm.
