Introducing our Antenatal Education Hub

Expectant parents now have antenatal support at their fingertips – thanks to our new online hub.
The new and improved Antenatal Education Hub is live on our website and has been designed to provide information for every stage of pregnancy, from the first booking appointment to the postnatal check.
Patients and families can also browse a range of classes, workshops and peer support, learn more about the tests and screening they may be offered and delve into what happens during their dating and mid-trimester scans.
Kookie Salt, Consultant Midwife, explained: “The hub aims to empower women and families with consistent, accessible information to support informed decision-making and personalised care. For staff, it offers a shared reference point that supports continuity, strengthens cross-boundary working, and makes antenatal contacts more focused and meaningful.”
The hub was developed by the clinical teams and Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) - both recognising families wanted more accessible information which remained consistent wherever they were being treated.
Kookie added: “Previously, while much of the content available was high quality, it could feel fragmented and difficult to navigate, particularly for those receiving care across more than one Trust or trying to work out what information was most relevant to them at different points in pregnancy.”
The new Antenatal Education Hub acts as a one-stop shop for information, resources and advice. Not only does it support patients and families in being more informed, but it also allows the medical professionals to provide tailored care.
Kookie said: “Antenatal appointments are limited in time. We created the hub to provide families access to reliable, trusted information before and between appointments, allowing for more personalised and meaningful discussions.
“The MNVP played a key role, offering insight into what families value, what works well and where information needs to be clearer or more accessible. This helped ensure the hub reflects real experiences as well as clinical best practice.”
The hub will continue to evolve through feedback and coproduction and so far, it’s been received positively.
“Staff have welcomed having a single, trusted resource to confidently signpost women to and families have told us they value the clarity, timing and accessibility of the information,” said Kookie.
