New Board director for strategy and innovation announced
The Trust has welcomed a new lead for strategy and innovation at BWC.
Dr Claire Lemer has been announced as the new Chief Officer for Strategy and Innovation, a post that became vacant when Matt Boazman took up the Chief Executive position.
Dr Lemer will join the Trust Board and executive team on 7 May.
She currently works at the Evalina London Children’s Hospital where she is Clinical Director for Medicine and Consultant in General Paediatrics and Service Transformation. She is clinical lead for the Children’s Hospital Transformation Programme.
Speaking about the new appointment, CEO Matthew Boazman said: “Claire will be an asset to the Trust and the wider Birmingham and Solihull system when she takes up her post later this year.
“Her experience and strategic knowledge will bring a fresh perspective as we continue to innovate to provide the best care we can for our patients and communities.”
Dr Lemer, who studies at Cambridge University and at Harvard’s School of Public Health, has worked as a clinical advisor to the Department of Health and in a number of roles at NHS hospitals across the country.
Dr Lemer said: “I’m so delighted to be joining BWC - a wonderful organisation whose values and way of caring for patients and families I have come to admire and respect over my years in the NHS.”
