NHS Staff Survey 2022 results published

Thousands of colleagues across our Trust shared their thoughts on life as part of the BWC Family in the annual NHS Staff Survey and the results have been released today (Thursday 9 March).

Almost half of our workforce filled in the survey, which gave colleagues across our hospitals the chance to share their own comments and opinions on what is working well and what improvements need to be made at BWC. The survey also includes the responses to our annual Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and our Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES).

There were plenty of positives to come out of this year’s survey, as we once again scored highly in areas related to the care we provide to patients, reconfirming that providing high-quality care is the number one priority for our Trust.

Equally, there are areas where improvements and adjustments need to be made and these include reducing work pressure and burnout, developing and nurturing our workforce, diversity in senior roles, recruiting new colleagues and holding on to the people who work at BWC more effectively.

Raffaela Goodby, our Chief People Officer, said: “Our people are our priority and we know that if we look after them, they will be able to provide the very best care for our patients and their families and impact on the communities that we serve.

“The NHS continues to face many challenges and the passion and commitment that our BWC Family show when facing them is incredible. That hard work to put our women, babies, young people, children and their families first does not go unnoticed and should be shouted from the rooftops.

“We recognise that things are difficult in the NHS and the results of the survey reflect that. There is more we need to do to ensure we continue to attract the very best talent to our organisation, more we need to do to ensure that BWC remains the best place to work, and more to support the wellbeing of colleagues so that they can bring their whole self to work every day."
