Nurse Tshepo’s commitment to supporting young people and families recognised with DAISY Award

Tshepo and Daljit and Emma We’d like to wish a huge ‘congratulations’ to the latest winner of our coveted DAISY Award, Tshepo Samuel Mokgosi, a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, who supports young people from our Forward Thinking Birmingham, West Core Community Mental Health Team at our Finch Road hub.

He received a special nomination from a colleague, who took the time to share how much they admired his commitment and dedication to his role. They got in touch to say ‘thank you ’ and recognise the positive impact his work has on patients.

It also explained how Tshepo demonstrates compassion when supporting young people with complex cases, always working tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes.

As is the case with all of our DAISY Award winners, Tshepo was surprised with his certificate, winner’s pin badge, ‘Healer’s Touch’ statue and cinnamon rolls (which he shared with colleagues). Daljit Athwal, our Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, was on hand to make the presentation.

He said, “I really appreciate the amount of compassion from my colleague that went into my nomination.

“The words shared were really a reflection of the team I am a part of. In my role, I have learnt so much

“I appreciate that someone was able to notice my patient-centred approach to provide the best possible care."

Daljit said: “ Our DAISY award is all about recognising the work of our tremendous colleagues who strive to do all they can for those they care for – to really make a difference.

“Tshepo is the definition of this with the care and compassion he has shown within his role.”
