And for her dedication and considerate care, she has been awarded a DAISY accolade.

Working at our Children’s Hospital as a Perinatal Palliative Care Nurse for our Palliative and Bereavement Care Team Olivia is there for families during some of the most difficult and uncertain times, including navigating palliative care and bereavement.

She was awarded the international accolade after a colleague nominated her for the compassionate care she showed a family when they lost their baby after receiving a devastating diagnosis.

The family were at home together when the baby sadly died, and Olivia was able to ensure the parents were supported and helped coordinate care.

The nomination said: “This was incredibly brave and outside of her scope of work. She ensured parents were given the best care during this time and afterwards."

Olivia was presented with the award by Daljit Athwal, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer.

She received a certificate and ‘Healer’s Touch’ statue, a DAISY pin and cinnamon rolls for her colleagues.
