Over The Wall bring their activity camps to the Midlands this summer

Over The Wall Summer Camps Our Trust has been working with Over The Wall (OTW) Children’s Charity to provide an outreach service for our children, young people and their families for the past nine months.

The first-of-its-kind partnership in the NHS with the charity, has been helping deliver therapeutic fun with activities that combat isolation and boost confidence for children during their stays on our wards. By bringing their service to the hospital environment, OTW have been able to reach out to patients who might be missing out on childhood due to a health challenge or disability.

One of the ways in which OTW help empower children with a health challenge to become the heroes of their own stories is by providing free-of-charge, transformative activity camps throughout the UK while offering first-class medical care catering for more than 130 different conditions.

The camps are a safe environment for children to build confidence and self-esteem, allowing them to meet new friends, accomplish new challenges and, above all, have fun.

The camps are ‘Health Challenge and Sibling Camps’ for young people aged 8-17 with a health challenge and/or their siblings. Children and young people who have been off treatment for up to three years are also welcome.

This summer, OTW will be running three, four-night residential activity camps in the Midlands packed full of new and exciting challenges to help children and young people grow and step out of their comfort zone.

The Midlands camps will be taking place at Whitemoor Lakes in Lichfield on the following dates:

  • Monday 31 July to Friday 4 August
  • Monday 7 August to Friday 11 August
  • Monday 14 August to Friday 18 August

OTW are able to provide medically chaperoned transport to and from each of these camps and there is no cost to the family of attendees at all.
