Birthing teams across our Women’s Hospital have joined together to learn more about ‘birthing biomechanics’ to further support expectant mums during labour.

Anna and Pete from Northfield are overjoyed to be welcoming a new edition to the family in February this year. As they approach the road to parenthood, they have decided that they want their first baby to be delivered from the comfort of their own home with our Home birth Team.

A new mum has generously donated some of her breast milk to babies in need at Birmingham Women’s Hospital after seeing first-hand the difference it makes to sick newborns.

Many of us are looking forward to the new year but for Max 2023 promises to be a special year after a life-saving kidney transplant journey.

We’re overjoyed to hear that our superstar twins by the names of Grayson and Jenson joined our Chaplaincy team for a special Christmas Christening earlier this week, after being in and out of our Women’s and Children’s Hospitals for over a year. Mum, Dad and our Chaplaincy team went above and beyond to ensure that their day was extra special. 

As I complete my final week as CEO of Birmingham Women’s and Children’s I want to offer a massive thank you to everyone for the most amazing fifteen years. 

For Dudley couple Lindsay and Liam Warner, they’ve already received the present they really wanted – to take their twin boys home in time for Christmas.

The festive period is a special time of the year - not for the presents, the Boxing Day bargains and the twinkling decorations; but for the time we spend with our families and loved ones.

On average, every seven to ten days, among those attending our Emergency Department, is a young person who has found themselves in a time of need with limited access to essentials. To help, our Trust has launched the Stuff2Help Kit Bag.
