We caught up with Alison Rea, Bereavement Midwife at our Women’s Hospital who took us through her role and how we support families after losing a child.

Anna and Pete from Northfield are overjoyed to be welcoming a new edition to the family in February this year. As they approach the road to parenthood, they have decided that they want their first baby to be delivered from the comfort of their own home with our Home birth Team.

A new mum has generously donated some of her breast milk to babies in need at Birmingham Women’s Hospital after seeing first-hand the difference it makes to sick newborns.

Many of us are looking forward to the new year but for Max 2023 promises to be a special year after a life-saving kidney transplant journey.

We’re overjoyed to hear that our superstar twins by the names of Grayson and Jenson joined our Chaplaincy team for a special Christmas Christening earlier this week, after being in and out of our Women’s and Children’s Hospitals for over a year. Mum, Dad and our Chaplaincy team went above and beyond to ensure that their day was extra special. 

As I complete my final week as CEO of Birmingham Women’s and Children’s I want to offer a massive thank you to everyone for the most amazing fifteen years. 

For Dudley couple Lindsay and Liam Warner, they’ve already received the present they really wanted – to take their twin boys home in time for Christmas.
