Here at BWC, we are a proud supporter of the NHS rainbow badges initiative, launched across our Trust in 2019 and adopted by hundreds of our team.

Today (15 February)  is International Childhood Cancer Day and we wanted to share the inspirational story of 3-year-old Leighton Tabbott, a patient on Ward 18 at our Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Young Poppy, a patient at our Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Forward Thinking Birmingham, has inspired her older sister Amelie to write a book all about challenges the nine-year-old faces.

For more than a decade our Trust has been supporting apprenticeships and we’re as passionate, which is why this week between 8 and 14 February we’ll be joining others to promote their many benefits during National Apprenticeships Week.

Our fantastic home birth team are still here supporting our women and families during these unprecedented times. Whilst in some Trusts, home birth services are suspended our BWC home birth team is proud to have been able to continue the service safely throughout the pandemic.

Research led by our Trust and the University of Birmingham has offered a new insight into the biological mechanisms of the long-term positive health effects of breastfeeding in preventing disorders of the immune system in later life.
