Daljit qualified as a registered general nurse in 1985 and went on to qualify as a registered sick children’s nurse in 1987 and a health visitor in 1990. Following several nursing and senior management roles in the community and acute settings, Daljit held national roles in the Commission for Health Improvement, Trust Development Authority and NHSE. Daljit was Deputy Chief Nurse at Nottingham University Hospitals for four years and went on to become Chief Nurse at George Eliot Hospital between 2018 and 2022 before becoming Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer at the Trust in August 2022. Daljit’s areas of interest include distributed leadership models such as professional shared decision making, quality improvement and improvement collaboratives, ward accreditation and health inequalities.
