There are also specialist theatre, dressing and clinic nurses who are skilled in caring for young people once they have been given their new ear. The hospital has a state-of-the-art medical photography department allowing 3D photography of the ear, which is becoming more important for measuring outcomes.

Future patients have a chance to meet another person who has undergone the procedure creating a patient support group and allowing families to share their experiences.
