Nathan Marsh
Public Governor, Rest of The West Midlands
I first became interested in the National Health Service at the age of eight when I joined a local volunteering charity. This interest developed as I passed through my time in education. On completing my further education I continued to hold the ultimate aim of progressing and enhancing my knowledge and clinical practice as a registered Paramedic. I have been a HCPC registered Paramedic for the past five years and believe that the skills I have learnt and practised now equip me for the next step of my journey as a Governor for Birmingham Women’s & Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
As a specialist Paramedic, I quickly learnt how pressurised the role can be based on a number of factors including the patient's needs, environment, time constraints and operational challenges. This pressure is something I have come to understand and accept and wish to have the opportunity to deliver change for the patients and their relatives we service across the West Midlands and surrounding areas through an ambitious, brave and compassionate values-driven approach.
I look forward to shaping the women’s and children’s services the Trust provides to the residents of Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
