Baby loss journal launched to offer support to parents and families
A new guided interactive journal designed to support Christians who have experienced baby loss has been launched at our Women's Hospital .
Always with You: A Guided Journal for Christians who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death has been written by Reverend Cassius Francis, Senior Chaplain and Bereavement and Palliative Care Lead .
Developed by our Chaplaincy team, the journal aims to offer comfort, reflection and spiritual support to bereaved parents navigating the grief of losing a baby, and features teachings and passages of comfort from the Bible.
Reverend Cassius said: "We created 'Always with You' to offer gentle support and guidance to people as they navigate the heartbreak of losing a baby .
"Through personal reflection, shared experiences and faith, we hope it helps people feel less alone in their grief."
The journal provides a safe space for parents to explore their thoughts and emotions through interactive writing and drawing activities, and has custom illustrations , created by Victoria Beech, to help people connect visually with their grief and emotions.
It also features personal stories from women and men who have experienced baby loss, alongside biblical reflections that address difficult questions , offer comfort in bereavement and encourage hope.
Reverend Cassius added: "Baby loss can leave parents and families feeling isolated and overwhelmed, and we wanted to create something that offers comfort during that journey.
"We hope this journal provides a source of hope, encouragement and spiritual support for those who need it."
The new journal was launched as a small event at Woodland House, our dedicated space for families who have experienced baby loss .
It forms part of a growing collection of spec ialised jou rnals developed by our Chaplaincy team to support people and parents of different faiths through baby loss.
A limited number of journals will be available as part of the first phase of this project, or you can find out more about support available from our Chaplaincy team on our website.
