Professor Yemisi Takwoingi

Yemisi Takwoingi is a Professor of Test Evaluation and Evidence Synthesis and Head of Department of Applied Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Health, University of Birmingham. She is a biostatistician/methodologist with an interest in evaluating medical tests for different health conditions to find out if they are fit for purpose. Her research covers evaluation of diagnostics in early stages of their development through to clinical studies in real world settings, and evidence synthesis that brings together multiple pieces of evidence to inform national and global policy recommendations. Yemisi is passionate about health equity and is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for the National Institute for Health and Care Research funded Midlands Patient Safety Research Collaboration that aims to make care safer for patients through clinical themes in acute care and maternal health. Yemisi is keen to use her professional expertise and experience as a mother of two daughters to support the work of BWC in delivering exceptional care for patients and their families.  Yemisi is also passionate about ‘People and Culture’ and will support BWC in being a safe and inclusive place where staff can be their best self.
