Volunteers at Birmingham Women's Hospital smiling

Become a volunteer

Whether you would like to give something back, make new friends, enhance your existing skills or learn something about a career in the NHS, there are so many benefits to volunteering with us.

Coming into hospital can be a stressful and worrying time, and having people around who can offer support, read stories to children, show families around or greet them at the door can make a huge difference to their journey and experience with us.

Our vision is to evolve and grow a volunteer service that is integral to providing an outstanding patient experience, through enhancing the lives of patients, staff and communities.

With this in mind, we look to ensure that volunteers are well placed, inducted, trained and supported throughout their volunteering to guarantee the best possible practice and service.

If you have availability each week, are enthusiastic, compassionate, honest, positive and kind, can attend regularly for a minimum of six months and want to do something rewarding and worthwhile, please do consider volunteering with us.
