Thank you to our Support Teams, a message from Phil Foster

As part of our 5th Birthday Celebrations Phil Foster, our Interim Chief Finance Officer, has shared a thank you on behalf of everyone at BWC to all the corporate and support teams who have played such an important role in the Trust’s first five years. Here’s what he had to say: 

Dear Colleague  

It is my pleasure to write to you today, all colleagues who work in corporate teams, on the 5th Birthday of BWC. The last five years have seen so much change, improvements, programmes delivered and achievements right across the Women’s, Children’s and Mental Health Services.  

The last two years have been challenging as the Trust has responded to the pandemic, both helping our colleagues in BWC and contributing to the efforts across Birmingham and Solihull.  I know many of you have changed how you work in the last two years, not seen colleagues and worked above and beyond your job descriptions just to keep everything going, thank you.   

Often we focus on the clinical achievements and the patient care, and rightly so, as we are a caring organisation dedicated to our patients and their families. However, today I want to say a huge thank you to all of the colleagues who work in ‘corporate’ teams, and recognise your BWC Spirit and say Happy 5th Birthday! 

You are the backbone of our organisation, and your dedication and commitment ensures that we can operate safely and well as an NHS Trust.  

You help us look after our families, you ensure our people are paid on time, you look after and support colleagues at the most difficult time in their lives and celebrate the happy times, you ensure we are financially safe as a trust, you respond to complaints, keep us legal, think about the future through investments, research and development, educate our colleagues, keep all the tech and communications running smoothly and so much more.  

Without you, our organisation wouldn’t be available to women, children, young people and their families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

Take some time today to reflect on the last five years and recognise how much you and your teams have achieved. Please be proud of all that you do. A huge well done, a big thank you, and happy 5th Birthday BWC
