Ward 18 and Ward 19

Ward 18

photo of a child walking down a corridor with help from his mom and a nurse Ward 18 is our inpatient ward and is located on the 2nd floor of Waterfall House. Your child may be admitted for chemotherapy or supportive care and management of complications due to treatment such as infections. Sometimes your child may be admitted to another ward within the hospital.  This decision is made by the hospital clinical co-ordinator at the time of your admission. Your child can be safely cared for on any ward within the hospital and will still be managed by the same medical team.

Ward 19

This is our Stem Cell Transplant Unit and is located on the 2nd floor of Waterfall House. Your child will be admitted here if they require a Stem Cell Transplant (bone marrow transplant).

Stem Cell Transplant Team

We have Specialist Nurses and a Specialist Clinical Support worker as part of the Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) team.

The team will facilitate all the pre transplant preparation.  Following discharge from Ward 19, the team will continue your care in an outpatient clinic on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Some patients may require a Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Harvest as part of their treatment. The SCT team support and facilitate the care for this procedure.
