FFLAG logo FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity who are dedicated to supporting parents, families and their LGBT+ loved ones. FFLAG volunteers are parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans children supported by other volunteers. These young people and their families face serious homophobia and transphobia in our society, which brings in its wake prejudice, bullying and alienation. FFLAG supports the full human and civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and speaks out to defend and enhance those human and civil rights. They provide a central point for the exchange of information between parent groups and local parent contacts, as well as offering support to help parents and families understand, accept and support their LGBTQ+ members with love and pride.

They are a trans-led and trans-involving grassroots organisation with a wealth of lived experience, and community connections and have a breadth of trans-community knowledge that is second to none.

gires logo GIRES (Gender Identity Research & Education Society) is a UK-wide organisation whose purpose is to improve the lives of trans and gender-diverse people of all ages, including those who are non-binary and non-gender. GIRES is a professionally managed membership charity that hears, helps, empowers and gives a voice to trans and gender-diverse individuals, including those who are non-binary and non-gender, as well as their families. Using evidence from individuals’ lived experiences, combined with scientific research into gender identity development, they aim to educate all those who can improve trans and gender-diverse individuals’ wellbeing.

As a charity, their aim is to support LGBTQ+ Muslims who want to find their place in the Ummah (wider Muslim community) and we extend a welcome to all parties who wish to resolve the LGBTQ-Muslim divide. They have a thriving online community where people can log on to seek help, offer advice or chat about everything or nothing!

Mind logo Mind support with information about mental health support. This service is also for people who are LGBTQ+, queer or questioning. Their LGBTIQ+ mental health support covers lots of options including self-care tips, seeking help and specialist LGBTIQ+ services.

MindOut logo MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people, including those who identify as asexual, aromantic, pansexual, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid and intersex. Their Online Support Live Chat is confidential, non-judgmental and anonymous. They are open every day, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

new family social logoNew Family Social is a UK charity, led by LGBTQ+ adopters and foster carers who support LGBTQ+ families that adopt or foster. They will help you decide if adoption or fostering is right for you and then support you on your journey to becoming parents and carers.  They also work with agencies to develop their services to be as LGBTQ+ inclusive and friendly as possible. There's an ever-increasing need for more LGBTQ+ people to explore both adoption and fostering so they aim to make the pool of available parents and carers as wide as possible for the many children in care.

Switchboard are an LGBT+ Helpline. It is a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including sexuality, gender identity, sexual health and emotional well-being. They support people to explore the right options for themselves and will provide this over the phone, through email and instant messaging services to people from across the UK.
