Counselling

All patients of the Birmingham Women’s Fertility Centre have access to free and independent short-term counselling as part of the Patient Support Pathway

It is not unusual to find the diagnosis of fertility issues and the journey of assisted conception stressful, emotional and difficult at times.  A confidential counselling service is offered to all patients before, during and after treatment.

Short term counselling is included in the treatment cost whether NHS or privately funded.  This is defined as follows:

  • Up to three sessions for implications counselling per treatment type
  • Up to six sessions of support or therapeutic counselling available before, during and up to a year after treatment has ended.
